MGI accepts Myanmar’s rejection in the aftermath of their director’s actions at MGI ’24 pageant and Thae Su Nyein’s rejection speech hours ago. Meanwhile, the MGI mother organization, has banned Htoo Ant Lwin of MGI Myanmar. MGI says he lacks sportsmanship and business credibility.

Let us take it from after Miss Grand Myanmar was announced as second runner-up last Friday, 25th October 2024. Next was her shocked expression at the announcement, followed by the actions of Htoo Ant Lwin who was the National Director of MGI in Myanmar.

How Htoo Ant Lwin Reacted

After photographs with her beloved queen sisters, Thae Su Nyein left the stage still crying. And then, national director MGI Myanmar approached her with their team. As soon as he reached her, he yanked the title tiara from her head. Then he removed the sash from her shoulders and threw them on the stage. So Thae Su Nyein tears started flowing again. And then her team members carried her away. She was not at the press conference held for the Top 5 winners.

Following this drama at the pageant finale, MGI accepts Myanmar’s rejection because Thae Su Nyein officially rejects second runner-up title. She rejects the title because she feels cheated out of the MGI 2024 Fan Vote award, The Power Country award and the Best National Costume award.

However, the beautiful, confident and talented eighteen-year-old denies crying because she did not win. She was weeping for her people. Because after her people had starved and stayed up supporting her for days, she lost. Therefore there is no need to hold on to the second runner-up position.
